Tehran to Isfahan

Compared to places like Esfahan or Shiraz, Tehran isn’t all that interesting. It’s just another sprawling, polluted and congested metropolis. There are two places really worth visiting. First one being the Treasury of National Jewels, underneath the Central Bank, that holds gems, jewellery, crowns and other precious objects accumulated over the course of various Persian empires. The other one is the Islamic Revolution And The Holy Defense museum that focuses on the Iran – Iraq war, and which is really well done. Sadly, no pictures are allowed in either one.
