A mix of nearly a week’s worth of photos from various places in and around Pyongyang
Part 1 – Mainly around the iconic Mansudae Grand monument – the two massive bronze statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, plus some views of Pyongyang and the unfinished Ryuguong Hotel
Part 2 – including riding on the Pyongyang metro, the Party Foundation Monument, Juche Tower and the Korean war museum or to give it its proper name, the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum where you find out that history is a very flexible concept, easily molded to fit and drive the desired narrative. It’s still extremely interesting though, not just for the propaganda. Finally, a visit to the grand Kumsusan Palace of The Sun where you go in to pay respects (i.e. bow) to the bodies of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il lying in state in glass coffins in their respective mausoleums.
Part 3 – Chilling in the park, having a beer at a Pyongyang bar, stopping by the Kim Il Sung Square and finishing the day riding a rollercoaster in the Keason Youth amusement park.
Part 4 – including a visit to a circus, a steel mill, Pyongyang’s modern science and tech complex with its massive library built around a full-size rocket, and some children performances
